What we do for your puppy! (And what you are paying for)
Investment in our Dam & Sire
The development of our puppies is very important to us to ensure that they grow into wonderful dogs in your family. These methods should continue to be practiced when they come into your home to solidify good behavior. Here are some of the ways our interactions with our puppies will help them adapt better to your home:
- Our dogs get annual screenings and shots
- Daily mental & physical exercise and a well rounded diet.
- Genetic testing of our dogs ensure that NONE of their puppies will have vDW1, DM, and EIC.
- Several check ups during the pregnancy with puppy wellness exams
- Deworming at 3 weeks & 8 weeks
- First round of shots at 8 weeks
- Parasite negative test results on health certification
- AKC papers (limited registration)
- AKC Reunite Lifetime Microchipping (saving you hundreds of dollars over the lifetime of the dog with a one time $20 activation, which is typically $20/yearly with other microchips) *activation is owner responsibility
- AKC 30 day insurance (buyer to register)
- Purina Pro Plan Puppy Kit
The development of our puppies is very important to us to ensure that they grow into wonderful dogs in your family. These methods should continue to be practiced when they come into your home to solidify good behavior. Here are some of the ways our interactions with our puppies will help them adapt better to your home:
- Monitoring behavior and teaching proper interactions (ex- Handling during feedings to avoid food aggression)
- Desensitizing puppies (ex- massaging paws to help with nail grooming, introducing grooming equipment)
- Introducing different environments & other types of animals
- Early Name Introduction (we will start using their new given name)
What's the difference between a breeder and the "Pet" store?
- 100% Transparency. We will be in constant communication. You will get weekly updates so you know exactly how your pup is being raised until they come home to you. (Via email or text)
- Pup will have better social skills. Because you know your pup is with their mom and litter mates during their 8 weeks before going home to you. They have more time to learn from momma and learn to live with their pack rather than spend (who knows how long) time in a small crate on display.
- Personalized early training for the temperament of the puppy.
- You may believe that buying from a breeder is EXPENSIVE. Having done the research myself before becoming a dog mom and getting involved with AKC, the pet stores will charge you the same price if not more under the guise of getting EXTRA things to come with your dog (first vet visit, grooming, leash, bedding, dog bowl, whatever!) Don't fall for that trap. The health of your pup from a pet store is greatly impacted from the state of the store and they never tell you where the dogs come from. Puppies need to be with their moms at least until 8 weeks!
- If either option isn't for you, ADOPT, ADOPT, ADOPT! But I'm here to tell you from personal experience, corgis in shelters and foster are RARE (for Florida) and AKC breeders typically ask for their dogs back to be rehomed if there is anything that will cause the dogs to be taken to the shelter. It's harder to find a corgi in a shelter than it is to find a good breeder. (I know, I tried!)
