Raising and training my corgis I love seeing how different their personalities and learning styles are. Surprise is EXTREMELY food motivated, but she is also a lap dog. If there are other dogs in play mode she wants to play with them all! Though she is not the trick genius (that Trouble is) she is quick to do all the tricks she knows to get a treat or a belly rub. While Trouble will audibly grumble when he's not in the mood (but we love him).
I can say that Surprise is the most loving dog to both dogs & humans. Never chewed on furniture (but can't say that about the dry wall & shoes when she was a puppy) lol Never even teethed on our heels or hands when she was a puppy! And all she wants is constant loving!

It was a long search, but I found a breeder that had dogs that were clear on all corgi genetic diseases! Yay... in Kansas. Not bad right? 22 hour drive? Try fitting that in one weekend. We drove from warm, flat Florida into places that made it feel like we were still in the middle of winter. Truck stops, Pokémon Go, and good conversation were our best friends. And coffee. Can't forget that.
We finally made our way there and visited with her brothers and sisters before picking her up from the house. Unlike Trouble she didn't go quietly. It made me feel bad. :( But she terrorized my clothes, fingers, and the car all the way home. I thought to myself... what if this dog is actually 'SURPRISE' the trouble maker? But just like Trouble, didn't make any mess in the car (besides eat her pee pad). When we finally got home, it was time to introduce Trouble to his new partner in crime. He was so excited. They immediately became inseparable best friends. Play nonstop, snuggle together, and eat and drink from the same bowl. |
